HELP CHILDREN

  • Learn to recognize, compare, and sort two-and three-dimensional geometric shapes
  • Describe attributes and parts of two-and three-dimensional geometric shapes
  • Investigate and predict the results of putting together and taking apart two-and three-dimensional geometric shapes
  • Recognize and apply slides, flips, and turns (known in mathematical language as transformations)
  • Recognize and creating shapes that have symmetry
  • Create mental images of geometric shapes using spatial memory and spatial visualization
  • Recognize and representing shapes from different perspectives
A users guide is provided with each order.

RAMPS AND PATHWAYS
(A CONSTRUCTVIST APPROACH TO PHYSICS & ENGINEERING)

HELP CHILDREN

In the process of creating successful ramps and pathways structures, children learn about relationships among the variables. Examples of mental relationships children have the opportunity to construct are:
  • Between the height of the support and the slope of the ramp
  • Between the slope of the ramp and the distance a marble will travel and
  • Between the slope of the ramp and the speed the marble attains
